Job Description

As the successful candidate for this role based at Borders General Hospital within NHS Borders, you will be expected to exhibit core values such as Care and Compassion, Quality and Teamwork, Dignity and Respect, and Openness, honesty, and responsibility in your daily work. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks that require exceptional administrative and line management skills, along with strong communication abilities to work efficiently within tight deadlines. Your primary duties will involve overseeing the full line management of General Services Supervisors at Borders General Hospital and other sites within the community. Additionally, you will provide crucial administrative and project support to supervisors and managers within the department. Your role will also entail organizing relevant management meetings for Facilities staff, which include domestics, Porters, and Drivers at Borders General Hospital and across the community. In this position, you will play a vital role in inputting and analyzing departmental data, generating reports for management, and aiding in project planning and implementation, including end-user support. Moreover, you should be aware that due to upcoming legislative changes from April 1, 2025, there may be adjustments to the level of criminal records check required for this role, potentially involving the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. To be eligible for this role, you must ensure that you possess the necessary permission to work in the United Kingdom as required by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. As part of the pre-employment verification process, NHS Scotland Boards will assess your entitlement to work in the UK through various routes, including specific types of visas or settled and pre-settled status in the EU. It is crucial to confirm your eligibility to work in the UK or explore the possibility of sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa if needed, subject to certain criteria.
