Fabrication Engineer

Role & responsibilities :

Fabrication Engineer Steel Bridge Work

Prepare daily/weekly fabrication schedules and manpower planning.

Ensure proper sequencing of cutting, welding, and assembly work. Supervise fabrication of steel bridge components (girders, cross beams, bracings, deck plates, etc.).

Monitor welding, cutting, bending, and bolting activities.

Ensure adherence to dimensional tolerances and quality standards.Conduct material inspection and ensure use of approved steel grades.

Ensure welding tests (WPS, PQR, welder qualification) are followed.

Implement strict safety practices during fabrication, handling, and erection preparation.Coordinate with design, QA/QC, and erection teams.

Liaise with vendors and contractors for material supply and subcontracting.

Maintain daily progress reports and escalate delays/issues to the Project Manager.

Preferred candidate profile:

Strong knowledge of steel bridge fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bolting, grinding, NDT checks).

Familiarity with codes and standards (IS, IRC, AWS, BS, AASHTO).

Ability to read and interpret structural & fabrication drawings.

Good knowledge of welding techniques (SMAW, FCAW, SAW).

Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and fabrication management software.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Problem-solving ability under site/fabrication yard conditions.
