Experienced - Sewing Machine Operator Trainer

Experienced Sewing Machine Operator Trainer is responsible for training learners in the operation of industrial sewing machines, garment stitching techniques, and quality control in apparel manufacturing. The trainer ensures hands-on practical learning and prepares candidates for work in garment factories and tailoring units.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver practical and theoretical training on sewing machine operations (lockstitch, overlock, flatlock, etc.)
• Train students on fabric handling, garment construction, and stitching techniques
• Demonstrate machine setup, thread adjustments, and routine maintenance
• Monitor trainees’ progress and provide one-on-one support where needed
• Prepare lesson plans, maintain training records, and assist in student assessments
• Ensure safety, discipline, and hygiene during training
• Support placement efforts by preparing trainees for industry expectations
• Align training delivery with -approved curriculum (if applicable)

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum Certificate/Diploma in Sewing / Tailoring / Apparel Manufacturing
• At least 3–5 years of industry experience and 3+ year as a trainer
• Strong knowledge of garment , machine types, and quality control
• Good communication skills in local language (Tamil, Hindi, etc.); basic English preferred
• Familiarity with training documentation, assessment methods, and safety protocols
• Prior experience under TNSDC, PMKVY, DDU-GKY is an added advantage
