EXPERIENCED CAPTAIN (CHINESE RESTAURANT )

A Chinese restaurant captain supervises dining room staff, manages guest experiences, and ensures smooth operations by handling tasks like staff training, seating arrangements, customer service, and collaborating with the kitchen. Key responsibilities include leading the service team, maintaining high service standards, managing reservations, and resolving guest issues to guarantee satisfaction. Responsibilities and duties

• Staff supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the dining room staff, including training and mentoring new servers.
• Customer service: Greet guests warmly, ensure they are seated promptly, and handle their concerns or complaints tactfully.
• Guest experience: Oversee the overall guest dining experience, from seating and order taking to ensuring timely and accurate food delivery.
• Operations management: Manage reservations and seating arrangements, and ensure the dining area is clean and organized.
• Kitchen liaison: Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service and to have a strong knowledge of the menu.
• Inventory and supplies: Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Required skills and qualifications

• Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills to manage a team effectively.
• Customer service: Excellent customer service abilities to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Knowledge: Good knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, menu items, and presentation standards.
• Problem-solving: Ability to handle pressure and solve problems promptly and tactfully.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems is often required.
• Experience: Extensive experience in food and beverage service is typically essential.
