Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instrumentation Setup & Maintenance:

  • Oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems used in formulation processes, including sensors, flow meters, pressure controllers, and temperature devices.
  • Ensure the continuous functioning of all instruments, minimizing downtime, and troubleshooting any issues promptly.
  • Support Formulation Processes:

  • Assist the formulation engineering team with the technical setup and maintenance of equipment used for pharmaceutical formulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and solutions for optimizing formulation processes, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of calibration, maintenance, and repairs for all instrumentation.
  • Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all instrumentation-related processes.
  • Generate periodic reports for the management team, including performance analysis of instrumentation systems.
  • Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure that all instrumentation activities comply with industry regulations (e.g., GMP, FDA standards) and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments related to instrumentation operations.
  • Training & Collaboration:

  • Provide training to junior staff and other team members on instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to support formulation and manufacturing activities.
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in instrumentation and pharmaceutical formulation engineering.
  • Identify opportunities for improving instrumentation performance and formulation efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification in relevant instrumentation systems or process control systems is a plus.
  • Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance, preferably in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation systems used in formulation or production processes.
  • Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of instrumentation control systems, automation, and process engineering.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant industry software (e.g., SAP, MES).
