Job Brief

We are searching for a creative and dedicated Executive Chef. The responsibilities of the Executive Chef include planning and directing food preparation, creating exceptional culinary dishes, and managing kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work under high pressure, have excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. Ultimately, the role of the Executive Chef is to create a memorable dining experience for our guests while adhering to food health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  1. Create and launch new recipes, ensuring each dish features an innovative and appealing presentation
  2. Experiment with different ingredients, and refine existing dishes.
  3. Develop and prepare menus for various dining events.
  4. Supervise the daily operations of the kitchen, including ordering supplies, maintaining a sanitary environment, and training staff.
  5. Ensure proper food preparation procedures are followed and all safety guidelines are met.
  6. Plan, organize, and manage the efficient production of high-quality food.
  7. Control costs and ensure food is prepared within budget guidelines.
  8. Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes to ensure a consistently high standard.
  9. Educate staff on techniques, ingredients, and other culinary topics.
  10. Maintain current knowledge of culinary trends and apply them to menu planning.
  11. Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and feedback as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
  • Experience in gourmet cooking is preferred

  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Exceptional culinary skills
  • Ability to manage a team
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and high-stress environments
  • Culinary school diploma
