Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure fire personnel are ready to meet any emergency.
  • Oversee vehicle serviceability in liaison with Duty Officer.
  • Maintain serviceability of fire appliances and equipment.
  • Supervise effective Rescue and Fire Fighting operations during emergencies.
  • Review indents and specifications of firefighting equipment and extinguishing media prepared by Fire Prevention Officer.
  • Guide and advise Fire Prevention Officer on fire prevention and protection measures.
  • Conduct pre-dispatch inspection/testing of firefighting agents and equipment.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports on ARFF activities for the Airport Director.
  • Ensure departmental procedures are followed at all times.
  • Impart training during shifts and conduct performance drills to assess crew readiness.
  • Ensure staff is properly dressed, equipped, and presentable.
  • Oversee daily/weekly/monthly cleaning, washing, greasing, and oiling of fire vehicles.
  • Conduct periodic training for airport staff on fire prevention and basic firefighting as per statutory guidelines.
  • Implement adequate prevention methods for general fire incidents.
  • Arrange inspection of fixed firefighting and fire alarm systems.
  • Conduct periodic fire audits and perform duties assigned by Head ARFF.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education & Certifications

  • Graduate or equivalent with

    Airport Fire Officer Training

    from ICAO-recognized institutions.
  • Graduate membership from

    Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) India/UK

    .
  • Additional certifications such as:
    • Specialized Crash Fire Tender (CFT) Driving License.
    • Higher Certificate or Senior Fire Officers Course from recognized Aviation Training Centres.
    • Membership of Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFE).
    • Diploma in Fire Engineering (DO/BE) from

      NFSC Nagpur

      .
  • Experience

  • Minimum 2 to 5

    years of hands-on experience

    in Rescue and Fire Services operations at an airport.
  • Proven track record in managing emergency response and ARFF operations.
  • Experience in supervising fire prevention measures and conducting fire audits.

  • Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of ICAO/DGCA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining firefighting vehicles and equipment.
  • Skilled in conducting fire drills, training programs, and performance assessments.
  • Familiarity with firefighting agents and extinguishing media specifications.

  • Additional Requirements

  • Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License with excellent driving skills.
  • Willingness to work in

    rotational shifts

    , including night shifts.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to guide and train teams.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
