Equity Research Analyst

Role Overview: As an Equity Research Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting thorough equity and private market research across various sectors, including unlisted and pre-IPO companies. Your role will involve building and maintaining financial models, performing valuation analysis, evaluating strategic investment opportunities, tracking industry trends, and preparing investment recommendations for internal committees and stakeholders. Additionally, you will collaborate with fund managers, investment teams, and external partners to identify and execute investment deals. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct in-depth equity and private market research across sectors, including unlisted and pre-IPO companies. - Build and maintain financial models and perform valuation analysis using DCF, comparables, and precedent transactions. - Evaluate strategic and anchor investment opportunities in IPOs and private placements, supporting due diligence and deal assessment. - Track industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments affecting investments. - Prepare investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for internal committees and stakeholders. - Collaborate with fund managers, investment teams, and external partners to identify and execute investment deals. - Support deal sourcing and pipeline development for private and pre-IPO investments through network and ecosystem engagement. Qualifications Required: - Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). - Strong research and analytical skills with proven experience in public, private, or unlisted company evaluation. - Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel analysis, and clear presentation of insights. - Ability to interpret financial statements, cap tables, and investor structures across deal stages. - Experience in investment memos, deal notes, and due diligence documentation. - Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills. - Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to deliver under tight timelines. - Familiarity with tools like Bloomberg, Capital IQ, CrunchBase, etc. - Prior exposure to anchor or strategic investing is a strong plus.,
