Job Purpose: To ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations by maintaining and troubleshooting all electrical systems and equipment in the AAC block manufacturing plant, including HT/LT panels, motors, automation systems, and utility systems. Role & responsibilities 1. Plant Electrical Maintenance Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of all electrical installations including LT/HT panels, MCCs, power distribution systems, transformers, DG sets, etc. Monitor and maintain electrical equipment such as motors, starters, VFDs, relays, and lighting systems. Attend and resolve electrical breakdowns to minimize downtime. 2. Equipment Troubleshooting Diagnose issues in electrical control circuits, power supply faults, motor tripping, relay settings, and overloads. Support instrumentation and automation issues related to sensors, PLCs, and VFD communication. 3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities as per SOP/checklist. Maintain logs for insulation resistance tests, earthing, breaker servicing, and cable terminations. Assist in condition monitoring activities and implement corrective actions. 4. Safety & Compliance Follow all electrical safety practices and ensure LOTO procedures are followed during maintenance. Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Electrical Inspectorate requirements, and statutory safety guidelines. Monitor and maintain proper earthing and lightning protection systems. Maintenance Manager should maintain: 1. Electrical Installation License 2. Electrical Contractor License 3. Approvals from CEIG (Chief Electrical Inspector to Government) 4. Electrical Safety Audit Reports 5. Energy Audit Reports 6. Test Reports and Calibration Certificates 7. Electrical Logbooks & Maintenance Records 8. Electrical Accident Register & Investigation Reports 9. Approved Electrical Drawings (SLD, Layouts, etc.) 10. Compliance Certificates under Indian Electricity Rules / CEA Regulations 11. Pollution Control Board Approvals for DG Sets 12. Fire Safety Compliance related to Electrical Installations 5. Documentation & Reporting Maintain shift logbooks, breakdown history, daily checklists, and energy meter readings. Support audits by providing proper documentation and equipment health reports. 6. Spare & Inventory Management Identify and report requirements of electrical spares and consumables. Assist in the inspection of incoming electrical materials and coordinate with the store/purchase team. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong hands-on knowledge of industrial electrical systems (HT/LT). Familiarity with VFDs (ABB, Schneider, Delta, etc.), soft starters, PLCs, and SCADA (if applicable). Understanding of relay logic, power factor management, and energy conservation. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Awareness of electrical safety norms and risk assessments. Experience: Executive: 2 to 4 years Senior Executive: 4 to 7 years Experience in continuous process industries such as AAC block, cement, or dry mix mortar plants is preferred. Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Licensed Electrical Supervisor Certificate preferred (as per local regulation)
