Engineer/Senior Engineer - Metallurgy

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Engineer to join our Metallurgy team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vacuum melting technologies such as VAR (Vacuum Arc Remelting), EBCHR (Electron Beam Cold Hearth Refining), or PAM (Plasma Arc Melting). In this role, you will work closely with senior metallurgists to prepare alloy recipes, support melting operations, coordinate with quality teams for testing, and help maintain metallurgical quality and process documentation.
This is a great opportunity to develop deep technical expertise in Titanium and Titanium alloy metallurgy in a modern aerospace-grade melting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing melting recipes for Titanium alloys (Alpha, Beta, and Alpha+Beta types such as Ti-6Al-4V).
• Support in selecting and verifying raw materials, including sponge, master alloys, and revert.
• Monitor melting parameters and assist in maintaining consistent melting conditions.
• Follow standard operating procedures for all charge preparation and melting activities. Supervise each melting cycle to ensure consistent results and adherence to process standards.
• Maintain traceability for all heats, charge plans, and melting records.
• Support preventive maintenance and calibration of melting systems to ensure process stability.
• Prepare detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) for each alloy and melting route.
• Develop and maintain PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) to identify risks and define control measures.
• Ensure documentation aligns with internal quality systems and external standards (AS9100 / ISO 9001).
• Plan and manage test piece offering for chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical analysis.
• Review laboratory results, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
• Work closely with quality and metallurgical labs to resolve composition or microstructure deviations.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering with specialized projects on advanced materials.

Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:

• Understanding of Titanium metallurgy and phase transformations.
• Strong grasp of vacuum melting principles and contamination control.
• Ability to interpret and analyse chemical and metallurgical test data.
• Familiarity with AMS / ASTM / Aerospace material specifications.
• Proficient in preparing technical documentation (PFD, PFMEA, control plans).
• Good communication skills and a collaborative working style. Knowledge of thermomechanical processing.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a high-performance Metallurgy team.
