Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager Finance & Accounts will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, managing compliance with applicable tax and regulatory frameworks, overseeing FOREX transactions, and supporting audit processes. The role demands a solid understanding of Ind AS, IFRS, and tax laws, with a focus on financial control, risk mitigation, and business support.

A. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review standalone and consolidated financial statements in compliance with Ind AS and statutory requirements.
  • Draft detailed notes to accounts, annual reports, and disclosures.
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and financial reporting.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and provide strategic recommendations.

B. Taxation (Direct & Indirect)

  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.
  • Manage foreign payments as per the Income Tax Act, including DTAA provisions.
  • Prepare and ensure timely payment of advance taxes and filing of returns.
  • Handle tax assessments, audits, scrutiny notices, and litigation support.
  • Prepare documentation for transfer pricing and support audits/appeals under Income Tax and GST.

C. Forex Management & FEMA Compliance

  • Oversee outward and inward remittances in line with FEMA and RBI guidelines.
  • Monitor foreign exchange exposure and implement hedging strategies to manage currency risk.
  • Prepare and submit Unhedged Foreign Currency Exposure (UFCE) statements and related compliance reports.

D. Audit & Compliance

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for statutory, tax, and internal audits.
  • Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and address audit observations.
  • Maintain documentation and support schedules for audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Review auditor communications (MRLs, Engagement Letters) and ensure compliance with Standards on Auditing (SAs).

E. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Support preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual vs. budgeted performance and analyze cost variances.
  • Assist in cost control initiatives and financial planning for business efficiency.

F. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Guide and supervise junior team members, ensuring their development and productivity.
  • Promote cross-functional coordination with departments like Procurement, Operations, and Legal.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, ethics, and compliance across the finance function.

G. Systems & Process Improvements,

  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, controls, and ERP utilization.
  • Support automation and digitization initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Mention key reporting relationships, e.g., reporting to CFO/Manager Finance,
  • Timely completion of statutory audits
  • Zero non-compliance observations in tax or forex
  • Accurate monthly closings within 5 working days
