What would you do? To develop, implement, and standardize design assurance process flows for engineering and project design activities in the utility sector. The role ensures that all design deliverables meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards through structured governance, design validation, and process control frameworks.
  
What are we looking for? 
Relevant experience in engineering design, project quality, or process development roles within the power utility or EPC environment. Familiarity with design processes in transmission, distribution, or generation projects. Hands-on experience with PLM / DMS / Project Control systems. Working knowledge of utility design standards (CEA, BIS, IEC, IEEE) and quality frameworks (ISO 9001, ISO 55000). Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering. Certification in Quality Management / Project Management / Asset Management preferred. Process mapping and workflow modeling (Visio / Lucidchart / BPM tools). Understanding of electrical and civil design processes in utility projects. Strong grasp of design review, validation, and approval procedures. Knowledge of quality management and asset assurance frameworks. Excellent analytical, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Familiarity with risk management (FMEA / HAZOP) and configuration management. 
 Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Process Flow Design & Standardization Develop end-to-end process flows for design assurance across electrical, civil, and mechanical disciplines within the utility environment. Map and document "as-is" and "to-be" workflows covering design initiation, review, approval, and release stages. Ensure alignment of design processes with utility standards, regulatory codes (CEA, CERC, BIS, IEC), and organizational quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 55000). Define process interfaces between design, planning, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless information flow. Develop RACI matrices, SOPs, and checklists for design quality assurance and approval.2. Design Assurance & Governance Establish and maintain a Design Assurance Framework that ensures design integrity, safety, and compliance. Define and monitor design review gates at concept, detailed design, and construction stages. Develop traceability systems linking design inputs, risk assessments, and approval records. Support configuration management and document control for engineering deliverables. Facilitate design audits and ensure lessons learned are embedded into process improvements.3. Process Improvement & Quality Integration Analyze existing design workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements. Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Kaizen) for design control processes. Collaborate with Quality, Asset Management, and Project teams to integrate risk-based and reliability-focused design practices. Support digitization initiatives by implementing workflow automation in PLM / PDM / DMS systems.4. Documentation & Compliance Prepare and maintain process flow diagrams, SOPs, templates, and process manuals for engineering teams. Ensure documentation aligns with corporate and regulatory compliance standards. Support internal and external audits, demonstrating adherence to design assurance procedures. Conduct training and awareness sessions on design assurance processes for project and engineering teams.
