Engineering Manager - Site Reliability & DevOps

As an Engineering Manager - Site Reliability, your role is to manage, mentor, and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the growth and development of both individual team members and the team as a whole align with organizational objectives. You will oversee activities to design new products, modify existing designs, and ensure timely deliverables of acceptable quality. Additionally, analyzing technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand will be crucial to plan projects that align with current demand and future ambitions. Collaboration with leaders, production, key stakeholders, and marketing teams will be essential to determine engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and time-to-market for new and existing products. - **Inspire, grow, and develop individuals by creating personal development plans, leveraging available resources, and offering stretch opportunities. - **Take ownership, proactively collaborate, and ensure delivery by tracking team health metrics, monitoring roadmap progress, identifying blockers, and resolving or escalating them. - **Actively monitor application health and performance, set and monitor relevant metrics, and take necessary actions when violated to own a service end-to-end. - **Apply state-of-the-art practices and tools to reduce business continuity risks, write relevant documentation, and guide junior team members in managing applications or services. - **Address and resolve live production issues within SLA, improve system reliability through root cause analysis, and contribute to postmortem processes. - **Build software applications using relevant development languages, write readable and reusable code, introduce design patterns, follow testing techniques, and maintain data security and quality. - **Advise product teams on technical solutions, evaluate target architecture improvements, and provide architectural guidance for varied stakeholders. - **Strong people management skills and experience - **Excellent communicator with stakeholder management experience, commercial awareness, and technical vision - **Humble and thoughtful technology leader who leads by example - **Experience in software development and building complex, scalable solutions - **Proven experience leading engineering teams in a fast-paced environment - **Solid experience in at least one programming language (Java, C/C++, Python, Go) - **Ability to formulate software solutions from scratch - **Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices & OOP patterns - **Hands-on experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting - **Creative problem-solving approach - **Practical experience in defining SLIs and SLOs, strong analytical skills, and data-driven mindset,
