Engineering Manager - II

As a part of Adobe's Digital Experience (DX) team, you will be contributing to a USD 4B+ business that serves the needs of enterprise businesses, including 95%+ of Fortune 500 organizations. Adobe Marketo Engage, the world's largest marketing automation platform within Adobe DX, enables enterprises to attract, segment, and nurture customers from discovery to loyal advocates across various touchpoints. Your Role: - Mentor and lead a high-performing engineering team. - Act as an inspiring leader in developing services for the next generation Multi-cloud service, delivering high-performance web services that cater to diverse business requirements. - Collaborate with global product management and engineering leaders to influence technical product architecture, practices, roadmap, and release plans. - Make strategic and tactical decisions to ensure successful project deliveries. - Lead the technical design, vision, and implementation strategy. - Create execution plans and guide the engineering team towards achieving the set vision. - Implement best practices and coding patterns for maintainable, modular, and high-quality solutions. - Evolve engineering processes and teamwork models to optimize team efficiency through creative problem-solving. - Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration. - Stay updated on emerging industry technologies and trends, leveraging this knowledge to influence product direction. Requirements for Success: - Possess 10+ years of software development experience, including leadership or management roles. - Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language (Java, C#, or Python) for backend development. - Strong database skills with expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Azure Cosmos DB). - Experience in frontend technologies, specifically React, and leading full-stack applications. - Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures. - Deep understanding of modern software architecture, including microservices, event-driven systems, and API-first development. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure for enterprise applications. - Proficiency in version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. - Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Kanban) and design patterns. - Hands-on experience in scalability and performance tuning for large applications. - Ability to lead multifunctional teams, mentor engineers, and build high-performing development teams. - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a bias for action. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and management abilities. - Experience in hiring, coaching, and developing software engineers. - Passion for building high-quality software and enhancing engineering processes. - BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
