Engineer - Thermal Service Operations

As an Engineer - Thermal Service Operations at Vertiv in Chennai, Tamilnadu, you will be responsible for leading a team of ground technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair DC Hall Thermal equipment and HVAC equipment. With 5 to 8 years of experience in the HVAC service field, you will ensure optimal performance by combining technical expertise with problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to safety. Your key responsibilities will include monitoring and evaluating franchisees/vendors for safety, preventive maintenance (PM), break-fix, and training to ensure optimal equipment performance. You will implement maintenance and break-fix strategies for continuous improvement, utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS/CMS) or similar tools for overseeing routine maintenance tasks. Effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork are essential as you engage with customers" facility teams and our ground team to deliver PM and break-fix services within agreed service level agreements (SLAs). You will work closely with internal project teams and other engineers to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth workflow, from project handover to service operations, training for technicians, and operations & maintenance (O&M) activities. Moreover, you will liaise with branch and head office back-office teams and our spares warehouse (DHL) to ensure timely replenishment of inventory spares and delivery to sites. Safety compliance is paramount, and you will be expected to follow company processes, health and safety regulations, and industry standards rigorously, fostering a safety-first culture within the ground force team. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will provide guidance and training to technicians and facility teams on technical aspects, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols. You will also support project teams in site activities such as installation and commissioning of equipment, testing, and optimization procedures. Regular preventive maintenance and break-fix site audits will be conducted to uphold the quality of work, and you will make regular site visits to understand customers" service expectations and strive to meet their service support needs effectively.,
