Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Strong understanding of raw material grades and international standards (e.g., JIS, ASTM, EN, ISO) for common sheet metal materials (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys) and their properties.
Costing of tooling and welding fixtures for new projects., Knowledge of Press tool, Jig Fixtures
Proto parts tooling cost, sheet metal parts costing, nesting.
Cost Negotiation with Suppliers & Cost down target achievements & Cost saving projects tracking
Should be able to understand manufacturing technique, material and processes of Plastic Molding / Sheet metal / Wire Forming / Machining/Forging & Familiarity with various finishing processes (e.g., powder coating, plating, anodizing).
Should be proficient in understanding engineering drawings, specifications, PPAP, APQP.
Send RFQs to various suppliers and arrange best pricing in given timelines.
Prior experience in Vendor development / Raw Material/Costing/Supplier management skills
Monitor & review the market trend of Raw material , up-down trend of various type of commodity.
Commodity price settlement with supplier and timely Raw material price amendment
Hands on experience of IT (SAP MM, AutoCAD, Excel, Power Point, MS Word, etc)
