Description
As a highly motivated QA and Validation Engineer with hands-on experience in embedded system testing, your role will involve validating firmware and hardware designs, ensuring product reliability, and supporting automation initiatives. This position is crucial for maintaining high standards in smart power systems, including IoT-enabled smart breakers and related devices. Key Responsibilities: - Design and execute test plans and test cases for embedded systems at various development stages. - Perform manual and automated testing of firmware and hardware modules. - Utilize lab equipment like oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, power sources, multimeters, and debuggers for validation and troubleshooting. - Design and create hardware & simulated test setups. - Troubleshoot faults caused by firmware or hardware failures. - Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts for regression and system-level testing. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues. - Conduct IoT connectivity testing (BLE, Wi-Fi, etc.) for smart power devices. - Document test results, maintain traceability, and ensure compliance with UL and other regulatory standards. - Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline. - 3-5 years of experience in embedded system QA and validation. - Proficiency in using debuggers, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and AC & DC power sources. - Working knowledge of Python scripting for test automation. - Exposure to smart power systems, GFCI, smart breakers, or IoT device testing. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Good communication and documentation abilities. Skills: Must Have: - Embedded product QA experience. - Embedded manual testing experience. - Embedded automation testing in Robot framework is good to have. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work with various cultures globally. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with test management tools and version control systems (e.g., Git). - Familiarity with Jira, Atlassian test management tools, and defect management tools, version control systems (e.g., Git). - Knowledge of compliance testing (UL, IEC standards). - Understanding of BLE/Wi-Fi stack validation and cloud connectivity testing.
