Engineer, Design II

As a Product Design Engineer specializing in Automotive connectors at Molex, you will play a crucial role in the development and ownership of next-generation automotive solutions. You will have the exciting opportunity to work on various aspects of product design, from project definition and detailed design to design verification and product validation. Your responsibilities will include defining project scope, incorporating the voice of the customer, and generating concepts for automotive connectors. You will be involved in predictive engineering by executing DFMEA and conducting Tolerance Analysis. Additionally, you will create product models and drawings using GD&T methodology, with a focus on plastic and sheet-metal part design. In terms of design verification and product validation, you will develop test plans (DVP&Rs) to validate product performance and analyze test results using statistical methods. You will also lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 5-9 years of product design experience. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent science degree is required, while a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. Key skills for this position include expertise in the new product design process, concept generation, DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance analysis, DVPR, plastic parts design, manufacturability, and problem-solving.
