Job Description

As a Design Engineer within Eaton's Aerospace Interconnect Technologies Division, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the design activities of electrical connectors, accessories, cables, and conduit assemblies. You will collaborate with project engineering to conceptualize new products and support existing product development through CAD design and drawing creation. Your role will involve the complete design process, from concept development to final design documentation, ensuring manufacturability and meeting product requirements. Your ability to create complex component drawings and communicate requirements effectively will be crucial in this role. You will need to demonstrate critical thinking and a research mindset to develop innovative solutions using existing technologies or introducing novel designs when necessary. Your role will involve conducting experiments, supporting lab testing and simulations, analyzing data and reports, and making design decisions independently. Managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively communicating with global project teams will be essential. Your contribution to team goals, influencing the work group, and utilizing specialized knowledge to support internal and external customers will be key aspects of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Design connectors, accessories, cables, and conduit assemblies, adhering to industry specifications such as AS85049 and MIL 38999 - Drive PRO-Launch/PRE-Launch execution for new product introduction programs - Verify drawings, reports, and change orders for completeness and conformity to standards - Initiate Engineering Change Orders and implement design changes in a configuration-controlled environment - Participate in design reviews, innovation summits, and design bursts to meet technical requirements - Support product sustaining activities through drawing changes for manufacturability improvement or obsolescence management - Utilize DFSS concepts/tools for new product development and improvement of existing products - Create 3D models, drawings, reports, BOMs, and test plans for new product designs - Ensure compliance with design standards, procedures, and data control requirements - Successfully complete assigned projects within budget, time, and cost constraints - Knowledge of REACH/RoHS regulations and material characterization/analysis preferred Qualifications: - B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical or related engineering field - 3-5 years of experience for B.E. and 1-2 years for M.Tech in design and development of connectors, cables, and accessories - Skills in mechanical design principles, 2D and 3D CAD modeling, GD&T, and industry specifications - Experience in DFMEA, DVPR, PLM systems, and design for manufacturing Skills Required: - Strong product design ability for new and modified products - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to collaborate in a global virtual engineering organization - Networking and relationship-building skills - Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners If you are a motivated and skilled Design Engineer with a passion for creating innovative solutions in aerospace interconnect technologies, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding opportunity at Eaton.,
