Job Description

Position Title:

1. Role Purpose

The HR Manager – Engagement is responsible for designing, executing, and monitoring the annual engagement calendar across all Barbeque Nation outlets. This role ensures consistent employee experience, builds a culture of recognition and belonging, and drives initiatives that enhance retention, motivation, and performance across the organisation.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Engagement Calendar & Implementation

  • Develop a yearly engagement calendar covering festivals, R&R programs, theme days, brand initiatives, welfare activities, and awareness campaigns.
  • Execute engagement activities seamlessly across all stores, ensuring high participation and uniform implementation.
  • Standardize engagement formats, communication templates and SOPs.

C. Monitoring, Tracking & Reporting

  • Track activity completion through photographs, reports, and participation data.
  • Maintain and publish weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards displaying engagement scores, feedback, compliance, and improvement areas.
  • Identify low-engagement stores and drive corrective actions.

D. Design & Creative Planning

  • Conceptualize creative, high-impact engagement ideas that suit restaurant operations.
  • Develop posters, banners, and digital communication using Canva or similar tools.
  • Ensure communication is brand-aligned and easy for outlet teams to execute.

E. Process, Culture & Employee Experience

  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee morale, teamwork and workplace positivity.
  • Implement R&R programs like Employee of the Month, Spot Awards and Hero Stories.
  • Conduct post-event feedback and measure engagement effectiveness.

F. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain documentation of all engagement activities, approvals and budgets.
  • Ensure activities align with company HR policies and statutory guidelines.
  • Build SOPs, templates and communication materials for store teams.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Office—especially PowerPoint and Excel dashboards.
  • Strong creative skills with practical experience in Canva.
  • Excellent communication and event management skills.
  • High follow-up discipline and stakeholder handling ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities with strong time management.
  • High energy, people-oriented and solution-driven mindset.

4. Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in employee engagement or HR operations (hospitality/retail preferred).
  • Proven experience managing multi-location engagement programs.

5. Additional Responsibilities

  • Identify and train Engagement Champions in stores.
  • Manage and optimize engagement budgets.
  • Support cultural and well-being initiatives.

Conduct quarterly engagement audits and share insights.
