Emergency Coordinator

Role & responsibilities

• Act as the central point of coordination for patient admissions, triage, transfers, and discharges within the ED.
• Ensure smooth and timely movement of patients from ED to ICU, wards, or specialty departments.
• Assist in prioritizing emergency cases based on triage protocols.
• Support doctors and nurses by ensuring availability of necessary equipment, consumables, and records.
• Monitor the availability of beds, crash carts, ventilators, and other lifesaving equipment.
• Coordinate diagnostic and supportive services (lab, radiology, pharmacy) for ED patients.
• Ensure adherence to

  NABH standards

  regarding triage, patient rights, infection control, and safety in ED.
• Maintain and verify records of patient care, medico-legal cases, and emergency registers.
• Participate in internal audits, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper counseling and communication with patients/attendants.
• Escalate critical issues to the Emergency Medical Officer

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate in Hospital Administration.
• 25 years of experience in hospital operations or clinical coordination, preferably in an

  Emergency Department

  of a NABH-accredited hospital.
• Exposure to triage systems, emergency protocols, and medico-legal case handling.
• Strong knowledge of

  emergency care workflows and NABH standards

  .
• Excellent multitasking, communication, and conflict-handling abilities.
• Proficiency in documentation, record management, and use of HIS (Hospital Information System).
• Ability to work under pressure with quick decision-making skills.
• Empathetic, patient-focused, and calm under stress.
• Leadership and teamwork capabilities.
• Accountability and a proactive approach in crisis handling.
