Job Description PLC Programming and Troubleshooting Develop, modify, and optimize PLC logic (LAD, FBD, SCL, etc.). Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and I/O-related issues. Maintain logic consistency across machines and ensure standardization. Machine Automation & Commissioning Oversee control system integration with drive & industrial machines. Validate sensor/actuator interfacing, safety systems, and communication protocols. Ensure successful installation, configuration, and testing of PLCs. Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) management Prepare and maintain PLC logic documentation, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and version control. Develop SOPs for machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Team Coordination & Support Supervise or assist junior engineers and technicians. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and production teams for smooth operation. Act as a liaison between production and automation design teams. Safety & Compliance Ensure machine safety interlocks are functional and meet standards. Conduct risk assessments for automation systems. Adhere to safety norms like ISO 13849, IEC 61508, etc. Process Improvement & Upgrades Identify automation opportunities to improve cycle time, accuracy, or energy efficiency. Evaluate and implement PLC upgrades or migrations (e.g., S7-300 to S7-1500). Analyze machine downtime and propose corrective actions. SCADA/HMI Integration Oversee development or modification of HMI/SCADA screens (WinCC, TIA Portal). Monitor data logging, alarms, and historical trends. Reporting & Analytics Generate regular reports on machine performance, downtime causes, and PLC error logs. Present findings and suggestions to senior management.

Primary Competency Install and configure software, networks and applications. Diagnose and troubleshoot system and network problems, software faults or hardware complications. Support the roll-out of new applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Troubleshoot software and identify root causes of software problems. Primary Competency Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios. Executing tests on software usability. Analyzing test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability. Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the design team. Interacting with clients to understand product requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, construction, and quality assurance. Review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy and feasibility. Track project progress and prepare reports for stakeholders and management.
