Overview The ELV - Cabling Contractor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient installation of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems within various infrastructures. This position is vital as it helps in maintaining communication, security, and monitoring systems that rely on proper cabling and connectivity. The contractor will be responsible for executing cabling projects from inception to completion, adhering to industry standards and client specifications. Key Responsibilities Install and maintain cabling systems for ELV projects including CCTV, access control, and audio-visual systems. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and industry standards relevant to cabling installation. Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and specifications. Perform detailed cable routing and installation procedures in compliance with safety regulations. Test and troubleshoot cabling systems to ensure functionality and performance. Coordinate with other contractors and project teams to align schedules and workflow. Provide training and guidance to junior installation personnel. Document installation processes, materials used, and project changes for future reference. Ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to budgetary constraints. Implement safety measures and best practices throughout all phases of cabling projects. Participate in project meetings to provide updates on progress and address challenges. Maintain inventory of cabling materials and equipment needed for projects. Assist in the development of project proposals and service estimates. Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and regulations regarding cable installation. Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to ELV cabling. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; certification in cabling installation preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in ELV cabling installation or related field. Strong knowledge of cabling types, standards, and installation techniques. Experience with testing equipment for cabling systems. Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications. Valid driver s license and reliable transportation. Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental policies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or nights, as required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with low voltage electrical systems and technology.
