Electrical Technician

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical panels, motors, MCCs, PLCs, and field instruments in formulation (Granulation, Compression, Coating, Capsule filling, Blister packing, etc.).
• Attend to electrical breakdowns in production equipment with minimum downtime.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new formulation machines.
• Maintain logbooks, calibration records, and preventive maintenance schedules as per SOPs.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and electrical compliance standards.
• Support in audits (regulatory, safety, internal, and external).
• Monitor and maintain compliance of electrical safety standards (earthing, insulation, circuit protection).
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe work practices.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot VFDs, PLC-based systems, sensors, HMIs, and electrical circuits.
• Assist in utility systems related to formulation areas (HVAC, AHU, dehumidifiers, etc.).
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
• 25 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical OSD formulation plant.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation.
• Familiar with GMP, cGMP, and pharma documentation practices.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot.
• Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
