Responsibilities

Critical

1. Operate and supervise the handling of 66 kV grid switchyard operations, ensuring safe load switching, system stability, and uninterrupted power supply.

2. Manage overall electrical systems in the plant, monitoring performance, addressing abnormalities, and coordinating preventive/corrective actions.

3. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations, implementing LOTO (Lockout-Tagout), PTW systems, and regular safety audits.

4. Monitor and troubleshoot critical electrical equipment, including transformers, DG sets, RTCC panels, i-MCC/PCC panels, VFD drives, UPS, battery systems, PA systems, elevators, cranes/hoists, CCTV, and HVAC systems.

5. Implement and oversee energy management practices, identifying consumption trends, inefficiencies, and driving energy-saving initiatives.

6. Monitor power quality parameters (harmonics, voltage dips, load imbalance) and optimize system performance through corrective measures.

7. Interpret and maintain electrical drawings, SLDs, and documentation, supporting troubleshooting, inspections, and compliance readiness.

8. Prepare and submit detailed power consumption and load reports, analyzing data to support decision-making and efficiency improvement.

9. Enforce and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) procedures, ensuring all electrical work is conducted with proper authorization and safety measures.

10. Plan and coordinate shutdown maintenance activities, including scope definition, resource allocation, safety checks, and timely execution.

Routine

1. Oversee routine and AMC-based maintenance of electrical equipment, including UPS systems, DG sets, elevators, and EOT cranes, ensuring continuous and reliable operation.

2. Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) for electrical systems to ensure standardized and safe execution of tasks.

3. Develop and implement Safety Management Plans (SMPs) aligned with statutory requirements and plant-specific electrical safety guidelines.

4. Conduct training sessions for team members on electrical safety practices, promoting awareness and safe handling of electrical systems across the plant.

5. Utilize diagnostic tools such as thermography to identify hot spots, prevent electrical failures, and support predictive maintenance strategies.

6. Monitor and maintain optimum Power Factor (PF) through capacitor bank adjustments and load balancing to ensure energy efficiency and cost savings.

7. Coordinate and supervise motor removal and dispatch to vendors for overhauling, ensuring proper documentation, repair tracking, and reinstallation readiness.

8. Execute preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance activities, aligning with planned schedules to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.

9. Record and track daily power consumption data and prepare G7 Plant reports for performance monitoring and management review.
