Roles & Responsibilities
Join Micron as an Electrical & IT Tool Hook Up Engineer, where your expertise will sculpt the future of technology! You will:
- Plan and complete electrical and IT hook-up activities for new and relocated tools or systems.
- Interpret and implement hookup drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams.
- Coordinate with tool vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate power distribution, grounding, and data communication connectivity.
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols and ESD safety during all hookup activities.
- Coordinate the installation of cable trays, conduits, junction boxes, power panels, and server racks.
- Test, verify, and detail accurate functionality of electrical supply (AC/DC), control wiring, and Ethernet/optical data connections.
- Provide technical support during tool commissioning and troubleshooting of hookup issues.
- Manage field changes and red-line drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
- Collaborate with Facilities, IT, and EHS teams for safety risk assessments and shutdown planning.
- Ensure adherence to local codes, international standards (IEC/NEC), and client-specific specifications.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of proven experience in electrical & IT hookup within high-tech, cleanroom, or semiconductor manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV power systems, PLC/SCADA communication, and industrial IT networks.
- Familiar with IEEE, IEC, NEC, and NFPA 70E standards.
- Solid understanding of AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and electrical testing tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project coordination skills.
Technical Expertise
The ideal candidate will have:
- Hands-on experience with hookup of process tools, servers, sensors, and auxiliary systems.
- Knowledge of fiber optics, structured cabling (Cat6/Cat7), and patch panel management.
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.) and IT rack architecture.
- Familiarity with grounding schemes, UPS backup systems, and cleanroom-compatible materials.
- Experience in working under ISO cleanroom standards (Class 100 Class 10,000).
Preferred Certifications
- Licensed Electrical Engineer or equivalent
- BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or similar IT infrastructure certifications
