Electrical Design Engineer

As a Secondary Engineering specialist, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support for the tendering and execution of customer projects related to Gas Insulated Switchgears LCC. You will be tasked with preparing secondary drawings, Bill of Quantities, and specifications for engineered items, along with checking suppliers" offers and coordinating with the Supply Chain Management for procurement of materials, equipment, and services for LCCs. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing interlocks, MIMIC, AC DC load calculations, and control schematics drawings in E3 for GIS bays. Attending discussions with customers, addressing site queries, assisting apprentices, entry-level engineers, technicians, and support teams with design questions, and reviewing deliverables before submission to clients will also be part of your role. Your role will also involve participating in customer meetings, project review meetings, and actively contributing to projects to reduce lead time and costs of LCC solutions while ensuring the quality of deliverables remains a top priority. Adhering to detailed project plans, focusing on optimized solutions beneficial to customers and Hitachi Energy, and collaborating with primary, steel, and application engineers on systems/solutions from Hitachi Energy companies will be essential. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, possess 3-7 years of design experience, and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in E3. Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEEE, IEC, and high voltage gas insulated switchgear (66kV and above) will be necessary for success in this role.
