Job Overview

An Electrical Design Engineer in construction is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the installation of electrical systems in buildings and infrastructure projects.

Design and Development

Creating electrical schematics and layouts:
Use CAD software to develop detailed drawings and plans for electrical systems.
Designing and optimizing electrical components:
Select appropriate components, ensure they meet performance requirements, and optimize designs for manufacturability.
Developing prototypes and testing designs:
Build and test prototypes to validate designs and make necessary adjustments.
Collaborating with other engineers:
Work with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless design integration.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving

Identifying and resolving electrical system malfunctions:
Troubleshoot issues, pinpoint root causes, and implement solutions.
Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards:
Adhere to industry regulations and standards such as IEC, NEC, and UL.
Supporting prototype development and testing:
Participate in prototype development, testing, and refinement to optimize designs.
