Solar Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Minimum 7-9 Years of Construction Experience in Renewable Project at Site for Civil/ Electrical Works Role & responsibilities

• Pre-Commissioning Activities:

• Review electrical design and as-built drawings, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  
• Verify the installation of all electrical components, such as inverters, transformers, and switchgear, on both rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems.
  
• Conduct site inspections and audits to assess the quality and accuracy of electrical installations.
  
• Ensure all required permits and documentation are in place before starting commissioning activities.
  

• Commissioning Process:

• Perform electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, ground testing, and functional tests for solar PV systems.
  
• Commission inverters, switchgear, combiner boxes, and other electrical components.
  
• Check the systems functionality by performing voltage, current, and power measurements.
  
• Confirm proper operation of the system by running the system through various performance tests.
  
• Record and report all commissioning results, including any deviations, to the project manager and relevant stakeholders.
  

• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:

• Identify and resolve electrical issues or faults that arise during commissioning.
  
• Work with the design and installation teams to implement corrective actions when necessary.
  
• Provide technical support to the construction and installation teams to ensure safe and efficient system setup.
  

• Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, UL).
  
• Ensure the site is prepared and safe for testing, and that all electrical safety protocols are followed.
  
• Maintain a strong focus on electrical safety during all commissioning activities, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  

• Final Documentation and Handover:

• Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports, including test results, equipment status, and any corrective actions taken.
  
• Provide training to the client or operations team on the system’s electrical components and operational procedures.
  
• Ensure all necessary project documentation is handed over to the client, including as-built electrical diagrams, system manuals, and warranty details.
