Electrical Assistant

As an Assistant in the Electrical Maintenance Department within the Forging Division, your main responsibilities will include: - Maintenance and repair: - Assisting electricians with routine and preventative maintenance on various electrical forging equipment. - Troubleshooting and diagnosing basic electrical malfunctions using testing devices. - Assisting in the repair or replacement of faulty electrical wiring, components, and fixtures. - Participating in the maintenance of high-voltage systems and the plant's distribution system. - Installation and assembly: - Assisting in the installation of new electrical systems, conduits, and wiring for plant upgrades. - Helping with the assembly and installation of electrical components like motor controls and switches. - Preparing and cutting wires and conduits according to specifications. - Operational support: - Reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams. - Supporting the utilization of specialized equipment for automating forging processes. - Collaborating with production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime. - Safety and housekeeping: - Adhering strictly to safety procedures and protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO). - Ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code and other relevant regulations. - Maintaining a clean work area and handling tools and equipment properly. - Inspecting work areas and equipment for safety hazards. - Teamwork and documentation: - Working under the supervision of licensed electricians or senior electrical staff. - Communicating effectively with team members for efficient task completion. - Documenting work performed, parts used, and maintenance activities. Required qualifications and skills: - Educational background: High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for vocational or technical courses in electricity or related fields. - Experience: Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, especially with heavy equipment, is beneficial. - Technical knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and components, including AC/DC systems, motor controls, and sensors. - Physical stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in confined spaces or at heights. - Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve electrical issues. - Blueprint reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics. - Safety orientation: Strong commitment to safety procedures and regulations in a heavy industrial environment.
