Job Description

The Incumbent will be responsible for-

Purpose of the Role

The role exists to support the planning, execution, and data management, diagnostic and development activities related to Electric Vehicle powertrain systems testing & Validation across the EV buses. The position demands expertise in EV powertrain components, System, instrumentation, diagnostics, CAN data analysis and field concern resolution to ensure robust product performance and customer satisfaction through testing & validation.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

1. Electric Powertrain System Development & Knowledge

  • Understand complete EV electrical architecture.
  • Sound knowledge of BEV layouts, BMS, HV battery systems, E-Drive components, OBC, DC-DC converters, and e-motors. AC slow, AC Fast and DC Fast charging.
  • Provide technical guidance on EV system integration with vehicle ePWT system.

2. Automotive Instrument & Tools Expertise

  • Hands-on experience of tools like Vector tools, and related diagnostic platforms.
  • Conduct result analysis, reporting, and risk assessment.

  • Assist Tool/Field teams in project implementation, issue reviews, and resolution tracking.
  • Coordinate with COCs and cross-functional teams for troubleshooting during pilot batch manufacturing. Interacting with CFT team and vendor team for RCA and PCA for reported failure and design improvement.
  • Track vehicle issues during software and tool updates, ensuring smooth program deliverables.
  • Maintain program documentation, issue history, and upcoming process records.

4. Field Concerns & Issue Resolution

  • Lead field concern analysis, troubleshooting, and closure tracking.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and provide design feedback.
  • Build and maintain databanks for DVP, DFMEA, Field visit and project learnings for future programs.
  • Provide on-ground support during field activities, including travel across PAN India as required.
  • Strong cross-functional communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong vehicle systems knowledge, including HV powertrain and associated components.
  • Expertise in vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, and field issue analysis.
  • Hands-on with measurement techniques, diagnostic tools, and calibration equipment.
  • Ability to conduct test drives, assess vehicle fitness, and analyze test results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and presentation skills.
