Position Summary The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Coordinator shall be NABET accredited and will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of Environmental Impact Assessments for Building & Construction and Township & Area Development projects. This role involves overseeing the entire EIA processfrom planning and execution to report submission and regulatory approvalwhile working closely with Functional Area Experts (FAEs) and team members. The EIA Coordinator ensures that environmental considerations are integrated into project planning and decision-making, in alignment with legal requirements and best practices. Experience Candidates recently accredited as EIA Coordinators by NABET are preferred. Alternatively, professionals with 3+ years of experience as a Functional Area Expert (FAE) in at least one of the following areasWater Pollution or Municipal Solid Wastemay be considered for fresh accreditation as an EIA Coordinator. Key Responsibilities EIA Coordinator The EIA Coordinator must have a strong understanding of environmental regulations, particularly the EIA Notification. Responsibilities include: Understanding environmental settings such as topography, hydrology, streams, habitation, vegetation, and land use based on spatial data. Conducting site inspections and due diligence analyses. Explaining local environmental issues to clients, including physical, ecological, socioeconomic, cultural, historical, and aesthetic aspects. Preparing the Terms of Reference (ToR) and Form I with the project proponent and attending ToR presentations. Coordinating presentations before the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) or State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC). Coordinating with accredited laboratories for baseline data collection post-ToR issuance from MoEFCC/SEACs and ensuring data quality through standard procedures. Defining the methodology for EIA report preparation and highlighting specific project-related issues. Visiting the site for appropriate durations to select sampling locations and determine sampling types. Developing the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), including implementation and monitoring strategies. Presenting the EIA report before the EAC/SEAC, along with the project proponent, for environmental clearance. Working Conditions Full-time position Remote / In-house (Hybrid) Occasional travel to project sites and to Chennai, if required Note: Candidates may apply for the EIA Coordinator role as well as the Functional Area Expert (FAE) role for Water Pollution and Municipal Solid Waste, subject to eligibility.
