Job Title: Draughtsman Mechanical (Erection & Commissioning Thermal Power Plant) Department: Engineering / Projects Location: Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Experience Required: Minimum 7 Years Industry: Thermal Power Project Execution Reporting To: Senior Engineer / Project Manager Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Draughtsman Mechanical with at least 7 years of experience in thermal power plant erection and commissioning projects. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in preparing and modifying drawings related to piping systems, Ash Handling Plants (AHP), and other mechanical installations, supporting the successful execution of large-scale power projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and update mechanical layout drawings, piping isometrics, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings for erection and commissioning activities. Work closely with the engineering and site execution teams to provide accurate and timely drawings as per project requirements. Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. Support the design and layout of Ash Handling Systems (AHP), ducting, supports, tanks, and equipment installations. Coordinate with engineers for drawing revisions based on site conditions and execution feedback. Maintain an organized repository of all engineering and as-built drawings. Assist in preparing as-built documentation post commissioning and project handover. Attend site meetings and provide technical drawing inputs during installation and commissioning activities. Collaborate with vendors and contractors for drawing reviews and approvals. Key Skills & Competencies: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Draftsmanship or Engineering Drawing Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in thermal power plant erection & commissioning projects Strong command over AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software (2D; 3D knowledge is an added advantage). Good understanding of thermal power plant systems, especially in mechanical erection and piping. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and structural layouts. Experience with AHP system layouts, piping routings, mechanical GA and support drawings. Accuracy and attention to detail in technical documentation. Ability to work under project deadlines and coordinate with site teams and design engineers.
