Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Process

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer (Process) will be responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and maintaining the mechanical and process systems used in ice cream manufacturing. The role involves ensuring smooth operation of processing equipment, improving production efficiency, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and optimize the performance of process equipment such as pasteurizers, homogenizers, ageing tanks, freezers, and filling machines.
• Ensure smooth functioning of refrigeration, air handling, and utility systems related to ice cream production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all process equipment.
• Work closely with the production and quality teams to maintain consistent product quality and process efficiency.
• Support process validation, equipment calibration, and SOP development.
• Participate in new equipment installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food hygiene, and GMP standards.
• Identify opportunities for energy conservation, cost optimization, and process improvement.
• Maintain proper documentation for maintenance, breakdowns, and equipment history.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities, and process automation.
• Familiarity with ice cream or dairy processing equipment and technologies.
• Knowledge of mechanical process equipment pasteurizers, homogenizers, ageing tanks, freezers, and filling machines
• Understanding of refrigeration systems compressors, chillers, condensers, cooling towers
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and TPM principles.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Strong sense of safety, quality, and hygiene practices.
