Director/Senior Manager of Cost Engineering Machining Bangalore, India True ValueHub is an AI-native B2B SaaS solution for manufacturing companies. We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Cost Engineering to lead the cost engineering track for the machining category. The ideal candidate will possess experience in both high-precision(CNC milling, turning, grinding, EDM, Swiss machining) and low-precision machining processes (casting finishing, drilling, boring, general purpose milling/turning). This senior-level role will oversee the machining costing modules development, calibration, and automation to drive its accuracy and efficiency. The candidate should understand the cost estimation methodologies and calculations for the machining category, macro and micro economic factors, and supply chain dynamics impacting the machining industry. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise across multiple industry segments, processes, and shop floor experience. Responsibilities Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cost engineering strategy for the machining category, addressing machining methods and industry requirements. Lead a global team of cost engineers, providing mentorship and technical direction, ensuring delivery of accurate, detailed costing analyses and actionable recommendations for the clients. Lead client engagements for accurate and timely delivery of client initiatives and programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product development/engineering, and lead client engagements for the machining category. Costing and Analysis: Drive cost evaluations for various machining processes, including Multi-Axis CNC Machining, Electrical Discharge Machining(EDM), Grinding and Superfinishing, CNC Turning and Milling, Drilling, and Reaming. Develop and maintain detailed cost models in our costing solution tailored to industry-specific requirements, such as automotive, aerospace, industrial, and heavy equipment, oil and gas, appliances, and medical industries. Identify key cost drivers and provide actionable insights for cost reduction through VA/VE, alternate manufacturing processes and material selection, and process improvements. Process Improvement: Implement cost engineering best practices across different machining processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost transparency. Champion accuracy, automation, and continuous improvement in True ValueHub solution for the Machining module. Industry Collaboration: Monitor industry trends and technological advancements in the machining category to identify opportunities for solution enhancements and efficiency. Act as a machining cost engineering expert, advising on strategic decisions and market positioning. Requirements Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10-15+ years of experience in cost engineering, with a focus on machining processes across multiple industries. Deep knowledge of both high-precision and low-precision machining across multiple industries (automotive, aerospace, medical, industrial equipment, consumer goods, etc.). At least 5 years of leadership experience in a cost engineering or related role. Technical Skills: Expertise in machining processes, including CNC milling, turning, grinding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), drilling, and casting finishing. Strong understanding of machining materials, such as aluminum, steel, titanium, superalloys, and composites. Proficiency in cost modeling tools, software, and data analysis. Leadership Skills: Strong ability to inspire, guide, and develop teams. Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and data-driven decision-making abilities. Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels. We value Strategic thinking and multi-industry knowledge.
