Director, Project Engineering

The Director, Project Engineering will be based in Hyderabad and will report to the Vice President, Design & Engineering. You will lead a team of 50+ members including Structural, Geotechnical, Civil, Performance, and CAD Engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to make decisions related to Design & Engineering for Nextracker's projects. This includes tasks such as site plans, mechanical sheet sets, foundation drawings, wind loading analysis, value engineering, and other design or engineering tasks to support project quoting and execution phases. You will work closely with key accounts globally and manage day-to-day issues on utility-scale PV projects from development to construction support. Collaboration with engineering teams in the US and India, as well as Sales, Project Management, and R&D teams, will be essential. Your role will involve managing a team that produces civil, structural, and mechanical design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and product selection. You will oversee the structural and foundation design of PV trackers, topography and hydrology analysis, tracker placement, and project development phases. Customer-facing representation for all engineering and technical aspects will be part of your responsibilities. Conducting value engineering exercises to reduce project costs, providing construction support, and coordinating with engineering teams globally will also be key tasks. Required qualifications for this position include an M.S/M.Tech in Civil/Structuctural/Mechanical Engineering from a premium institute, a minimum of 15+ years of relevant work experience in Project Engineering within the Renewable industry, exposure to managing large global teams of Civil/Structural designers, and thorough knowledge of engineering codes and methodologies. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil, STAAD, and LPile is preferred, as well as experience with programming, software, and automation.
