The Director, Project Engineering will be based in Hyderabad and will report to the Vice President, Design & Engineering. You will lead a team of 50+ members including Structural, Geotechnical, Civil, Performance, and CAD Engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to make decisions related to Design & Engineering for Nextracker's projects. This includes tasks such as site plans, mechanical sheet sets, foundation drawings, wind loading analysis, value engineering, and other design or engineering tasks to support project quoting and execution phases. You will work closely with key accounts globally and manage day-to-day issues on utility-scale PV projects from development to construction support. Collaboration with engineering teams in the US and India, as well as Sales, Project Management, and R&D teams, will be essential. Your role will involve managing a team that produces civil, structural, and mechanical design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and product selection. You will oversee the structural and foundation design of PV trackers, topography and hydrology analysis, tracker placement, and project development phases. Customer-facing representation for all engineering and technical aspects will be part of your responsibilities. Conducting value engineering exercises to reduce project costs, providing construction support, and coordinating with engineering teams globally will also be key tasks. Required qualifications for this position include an M.S/M.Tech in Civil/Structuctural/Mechanical Engineering from a premium institute, a minimum of 15+ years of relevant work experience in Project Engineering within the Renewable industry, exposure to managing large global teams of Civil/Structural designers, and thorough knowledge of engineering codes and methodologies. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil, STAAD, and LPile is preferred, as well as experience with programming, software, and automation. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and analyzing geotechnical investigations, borehole data, and foundation recommendations to support structural and infrastructure projects. ????? Key Responsibilities Draft scope of work for field/lab testing agencies: borehole number, depth, test types as per codes. Coordinate with field teams to resolve technical queries and suggest changes during site execution. Review and summarize borehole data to assist structural design and foundation decisions. Prepare detailed Geotechnical Interpretation Reports including: Safe bearing capacity (SBC) Pile capacity by diameter and depth Soil spring constants Liquefaction analysis Soil-structure interaction Secure approval of reports from authorities, proof checkers, and other stakeholders. Review field tests like pile load tests and plate load tests. Support pre-bid engineering and represent the firm in technical meetings. ? The position requires a Structural Engineer with 5 to 15 years of experience in Civil & Structural design and Engineering techniques. You will be responsible for performing Structural calculations independently, leading projects, and delivering high-quality reports and drawings. Your role will involve planning and conducting independent work, demonstrating judgment in evaluation, selection, application, and compliance with codes, standards, specifications, and criteria. You will need to devise new approaches to structural engineering problems and provide workable solutions within budgeted hours and resources. Additionally, your professional communication skills will be crucial for collaborating with other engineering disciplines, potentially across multiple offices. You should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution or university with academic excellence. Experience, Skills & Technical Requirements: - Previous experience in Civil & Structural Engineering within industrial domains like Oil & Gas, Petrochemical Industry, Power Plants, Food & Beverages/ Pharma/ Semi-Conductor plants, or other industrial projects is preferred. - Demonstrated proficiency in load calculation, structural analysis, sizing, design, and report preparation. - Strong experience in FEED and detailed design for steel & concrete structures, and various foundation systems. - Working knowledge of American codes such as IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI. - Proficiency in structural calculation software like STAAD, RISA3D, RISA FOUNDATION, RISA CONNECTION, LPILE, etc. - Experience in structural calculations for Greenfield, retrofitting, and modification projects. - Ability to read, operate, and review Laser scan data and 3D models using tools like SPR, Navis Works, etc. - Familiarity with European and British standards is advantageous. - Capability to read and interpret geotechnical reports. - Exposure to Offshore Structures is a plus. - Proficiency in drawing preparation using AutoCAD is beneficial. - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential for effective communication on complex issues across multiple offices and teams. Typical Duties & Responsibilities: - Civil/ Structural Calculations & Report Preparation - Providing drawings for own designs and producing sketches for incorporation into the drawings by Designers. - Generating multiple design options considering structural feasibilities, site constraints, and comparing cost and schedule implications. - Close coordination with Leads, Designers, and multi-disciplinary teams. - Reviewing drawings and shop drawings. - Managing, drafting, organizing, storing, and retrieving the necessary inputs and outputs of the structural deliverables.,

Role & responsibilities Design and analysis of sheeting and shoring systems for deep excavations and structural stability. Develop earth retention systems including: Soldier beam and lagging Secant pile walls Tangent pile walls Sheet pile walls Shotcrete systems with soil nails or rock bolts Tie-backs (earth anchors) Underpinning of existing structures Prepare design drawings, technical reports, and calculation packages to support construction and permitting. Evaluate geotechnical data, soil investigation reports, and laboratory test results to inform design decisions. Coordinate with structural engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure constructability and cost-effective solutions. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AASHTO, ACI, AISC, FHWA, local building codes ). Assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to ground movement, adjacent structure stability, and excavation safety. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering. Above 8 years of experience in geotechnical design, specifically related to earth retention and support systems. Proficiency in geotechnical design software e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5, WALLAP, DYWIDAG, LPILE, SLIDE, etc. Familiarity with Civil 3D knowledge will be of added advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
