Job Description

As the Director, Product Manager - Technical at Mastercard, your role involves taking ownership of the local team of Product Managers Technical, coaching, developing, and leading the team to greater efficiency, performance, and expertise. You will ensure consistency of approach across various squads, analyze business, data, and system interface requirements, and elicit and decompose business requirements into platform requirements and user stories. Additionally, you will manage the backlog of user stories, own the vision and elaboration for features, and work with development teams, software architects, and other groups to ensure a clear understanding of business needs that will drive software development activities. Key Responsibilities: - Take ownership of the local team of Product Managers Technical, coaching, developing, and leading the team to greater efficiency, performance, and expertise - Analyze business, data, and system interface requirements for roadmap features, system integrations, software maintenance items, or specific business requests - Elicit and decompose business requirements into platform requirements and user stories - Manage the backlog of user stories together with the scrum team/squad, ensuring business priorities are well understood - Own the vision and elaboration for one or more features, sometimes within a specific product or capability sub-set - Translate deep understanding of customers' requirements and the product roadmap into products and solutions that drive significant customer value - Recommend trade-off decisions on platform product features/depth of features/backlog items - Communicate clearly and concisely to analyze problems effectively and agree on outcomes - Continuously monitor feature development at the feature level - Own and manage product documentation ensuring clarity and ease of consumption by engineering teams - Support development of user and release documentation Qualifications Required: - Strong technical background with familiarity of tech stack like Java, RDBMS, SQL, Messaging, Middleware, Event Driven Architecture - Proficiency in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.) and CI/CD - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English - Ability to negotiate requirements and build effective relationships with key stakeholders - Solid understanding of data management and data transfers - Knowledge and skills using product management tools (Jira, Confluence, Aha!, etc.) In addition to the technical responsibilities, you are expected to demonstrate the 'Mastercard Way' by creating value for customers, partners, and colleagues, growing together to achieve goals, and moving swiftly on what matters most for customers and Mastercard.
