As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector, aligned to the Enterprise Technology Division, you will spearhead a technical domain, providing leadership and direction to teams, technologies, and projects across diverse departments. Your deep expertise in software, applications, technical processes, and product management will be crucial in managing multiple complex projects and initiatives. Job responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Makes decisions that influence teams resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies, to diverse and complex projects of moderate to large scope
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Practical cloud native experience
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expert in Agility practices, SDLC processes, CICD, application resiliency and security
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with prior experience of influencing across matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Strong analytical, logical and problem solving skills to provide solution to complex business problems

- Experience of Machine Learning technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Experience of working with modern front end technologies such as React
