Job Description

As the Housekeeping and Laundry Manager at Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the housekeeping functions and staff to ensure that guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. You will be managing the Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry departments, working closely with your team to ensure the smooth execution of all housekeeping operations. Your goal will be to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while optimizing the department's financial performance by ensuring adherence to standards and procedures. To qualify for this role, you should possess a high school diploma or GED along with at least 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major from an accredited university can also be considered, with no prior work experience required. Your core work activities will include maintaining a strong relationship with the Front Office for effective communication, managing work assignments and supply inventories, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards, and implementing an inspection program to uphold cleanliness standards. You will also be responsible for budgeting and ordering supplies, managing departmental costs, and driving guest satisfaction and financial results through effective leadership of the Housekeeping team. In addition, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service by promptly addressing guest problems and complaints, integrating guest satisfaction into departmental meetings, empowering employees to deliver excellent service, and setting clear goals and expectations for your team. You will also be involved in conducting various human resources activities such as administering property policies fairly, establishing goals for all areas of responsibility, hiring and managing staff, and fostering open and collaborative relationships within the team.
