Value Preposition

The Director of Resilience will be responsible for establishing and leading the global capabilities within the Enterprise Resilience Office (ERO), with accountability for developing and managing frameworks to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from business disruption risks. This role will oversee India teams within Business Continuity Management (BCM), Operational Resilience, and Crisis Management programs, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory expectations.

About The Team

This is a leadership role requiring strong experience in building and managing teams, shaping programs across complex organizations, and working with stakeholders at all levels using a hands-on approach when required. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in business disruption risk management, operational resilience, crisis management, resilience testing and business continuity management with the ability to drive transformation in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Deliverables

(Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Support the design, implementation, and management of the Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Operational Resilience programs for India operations.
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and management of business disruption risks across business lines, technology, operations, and third-party services.
  • Establish governance, policies, and procedures aligned to global standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and oversee crisis management frameworks, including incident response playbooks, escalation protocols, and crisis communications.
  • Lead and facilitate crisis and business continuity response during significant events impacting India operations.
  • Actively drive the hands-on development, maintenance and exercising of business continuity plans in India and the US.
  • Ensure India's critical business services are resilient to disruption by embedding resilience requirements into business processes, technology, and vendor management.

  • Partner with global resilience, technology, and risk teams to deliver consistency and transparency.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in India and globally to integrate resilience into business strategy.
  • Engage with regulators, auditors, and external partners as required.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team in India and assure alignment to US Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Operational Resilience programs.
  • Ability to lead in a diverse, multicultural environment with an understanding of India and US business landscape.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and performance management for associates, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Skills and Qualification

(Functional and Technical Skills)

Functional Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in resilience, business disruption risk management, or related functions, preferably within global financial institutions/GSIBs.
  • Proven track record of leading Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, and/or Crisis Management/Incident response programs.
  • Experience designing and executing operational resilience and business continuity exercises, including tabletop simulations and stress tests.
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex IT disaster recovery concepts including actively supporting large scale data center failover exercises.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex, global, matrixed environment.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory expectations and industry best practices for resilience in financial services including FFIEC IT BCM Handbook.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to articulate complex strategies, present to leadership, and train teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, ISO 22301, PMP) are desirable.

Technical/Business Skills

  • Good working understanding of Business Continuity management tools like Archer/Fusion.
  • Well versed with Crisis Communication tools like mass notification system.
  • Should have a good knowledge of collecting information through open sources.
  • Excellent report writing skills can come across a s advantage.
  • Knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Relationships & Collaboration

The role requires working directly with all business units, spanning both local and global operations, to support the program. This engagement will provide exposure to the multi-faceted nature of a BFSI organization.
