Job Title : Director Artificial Intelligence (AI) Job Type : Full-time Experience: 12+ years, including 5+ years in AI/ML leadership About the Role We are looking for a strategic, technically deep, and customer-facing AI leader to join us as Director Artificial Intelligence. In this role, you will lead our AI strategy, delivery, and innovation efforts across the organization. You will work closely with executive leadership, product teams, engineering, and customers to define and deliver cutting-edge AI solutions. This critical leadership position blends vision, execution, and hands-on technical credibility. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Technical Leadership Define and evolve the companys AI/ML strategy and execution roadmap in alignment with business objectives. Drive research-to-production transition of AI/ML models, focusing on robustness, scalability, and performance. Evaluate and implement GenAI, classical ML, and deep learning techniques across varied business problems. Establish standards and best practices for MLOps, model governance, explainability, and ethics. Customer Engagement & Pre-Sales Work directly with customers in solutioning, workshops, and business problem framing. Lead technical discovery sessions and provide deep-dive AI architectural guidance. Partner with Sales/Account teams in pre-sales activities, proposal development, solution design, and customer presentations. Represent AI capability in RFPs, bids, and customer evaluations, ensuring technical excellence and relevance. AI Delivery Ownership Provide technical leadership across end-to-end delivery of AI/ML projects, including data pipelines, model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring. Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to build scalable AI platforms and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment. Ensure operationalization of models with performance benchmarking, retraining strategies, and lifecycle management. Team Organization & Mentorship Lead and grow a high-caliber team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, AI Researchers, and Architects. Define roles, competencies, and structure of the AI team for scale and agility. Drive technical mentorship, hands-on reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize team potential. Thought Leadership & Innovation Track and evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and research (e.g., LLMs, reinforcement learning, vision transformers). Represent the organization at conferences, technical forums, and with analyst communities. Publish whitepapers, technical blogs, and position the organization as a leader in applied AI. Qualifications Required 12+ years of experience in data, AI, or software domains, with 5+ years in leadership. Proven track record of leading large-scale AI projects from concept to production. Deep expertise in : ML/DL algorithms (e.g., gradient boosting, CNNs, transformers, RL) GenAI and LLM frameworks (OpenAI, HuggingFace, LangChain, RAG) Data pipelines and feature engineering (Spark, Pandas, Kafka) AI Engineering and MLOps (MLFlow, Kubeflow, TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe) Model evaluation, interpretability, fairness, and security Strong understanding of AI system architecture, microservices, APIs, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with cloud and on-premise deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or private infra). Technical depth to review and contribute to AI codebase, ML pipelines, and architecture decisions. Pre-Sales & Business Alignment Experience leading or contributing to RFPs, RFIs, technical solutioning, and executive-level presentations. Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between business needs and AI solutions. Preferred B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field from a premier college. Experience in AI applications in telecom, healthcare, manufacturing, or finance. Familiarity with edge AI, federated learning, or real-time streaming analytics. Soft Skills Excellent communication and storytelling skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and delivery.
