Role Overview
The
Director, Compensation & Benefits APAC
is a key regional leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the compensation and benefits strategy across the Asia Pacific region. This role will lead the design, governance, and delivery of total rewards programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while ensuring alignment with global frameworks and local market dynamics.As a senior member of the Total Rewards team, the Director will serve as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders, drive regional initiatives, and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory landscapes. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in compensation and benefits, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead complex, global projects in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of APAC compensation and benefits strategy, ensuring alignment with global Total Rewards philosophy and local market competitiveness.
- Serve as the regional subject matter expert on compensation and benefits, advising senior HR and business leaders on policy, program design, and strategic decisions.
- Oversee regional compensation structures, including salary ranges, incentive plans, and equity programs, ensuring consistency, equity, and market relevance.
- Design and manage regional benefits programs, including health, retirement, wellness, and leave policies, tailored to local needs and compliant with statutory requirements.
- Drive regional governance and compliance, staying ahead of regulatory changes and ensuring programs meet legal and ethical standards across all APAC jurisdictions.
- Lead regional participation in compensation and benefits surveys, analyze market data, and provide insights to inform pay positioning and program design.
- Manage vendor relationships across APAC, including performance reviews, strategic planning, risk assessments, and technology roadmaps.
- Partner with global Total Rewards and HR teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives and ensure seamless integration of regional programs.
- Lead change management and communication efforts for new or evolving programs, ensuring stakeholder alignment and successful adoption.
- Mentor and develop regional compensation and benefits team members, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, CEBS) preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in total rewards or related HR functions, with a significant portion in leadership roles
- Proven experience managing compensation and benefits across multiple APAC countries, with a deep understanding of local labor markets and compensation trends.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex regional projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of APAC labor laws, statutory requirements, and market practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed, and culturally diverse environment.
