Direct Taxes Associate- Madurai

TRole & responsibilities

• Prepare monthly TDS workings across applicable sections (e.g., 194C, 194J, 194H, 195).
• Ensure timely payment and reconciliation of TDS with books.
• File quarterly TDS returns and manage corrections via TRACES.
• Handle Form 15CA/CB filings for foreign remittances in coordination with Chartered Accountants.
• Assist in preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns.
• Support computation of taxable income and final tax liability.
• Ensure compliance with latest amendments under the Income Tax Act.
• Post monthly journal entries for TDS, advance tax, and provisions.
• Reconcile tax GL accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
• Maintain documentation for tax payments, returns, and assessments.
• Prepare clause-wise tax audit schedules including TDS disallowances under Section 40(a)(ia), Payments to related parties, other disclosures under Form 3CD
• Coordinate with tax auditors for queries and documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax audit reports.
• Prepare direct tax-related schedules for statutory audit.
• Support auditors with reconciliations, workings, and documentation.
• Address audit queries related to tax provisions, payments, and disclosures.
• Assist in preparation of deferred tax asset/liability schedules.
• Ensure accurate reporting in financial statements in coordination with finance and audit teams.

Preferred candidate profile

5-8 yrs of work ex (pref an Inter CA/CMA ( Direct Taxation Experience)

Strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws, especially TDS and corporate taxation.

Familiarity with TRACES, income tax portal, and Form 15CA/CB procedures.

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems (SAP).

Ability to manage deadlines and coordinate across teams.

Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy

Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance)
