Role Overview-

The Direct Taxation Lead will be responsible for managing all aspects of direct tax planning, compliance, assessments, and advisory for the Group. The role demands strong expertise in corporate taxation, transfer pricing, and tax audits, along with the ability to guide management on tax-efficient strategies.

Key Responsibilities-

• Lead and manage direct tax compliance including filing of returns, advance tax, and tax audits.
• Handle corporate income tax matters, including assessments, appeals, and representations before tax authorities.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements.
• Provide tax planning and advisory support for business decisions, M&A, restructuring, and cross-border transactions.
• Ensure timely closure of tax audits, assessments, and litigation matters.
• Monitor and implement changes in Income Tax Act, Finance Acts, and judicial pronouncements.
• Collaborate with external consultants, auditors, and internal teams to ensure compliance.
• Optimize tax efficiency while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.
• Support in financial reporting of tax matters, including deferred tax and provisioning.
• Build and mentor a team to strengthen in-house taxation capabilities.

Desired Skills & Qualifications-

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in direct taxation.
• Strong exposure to corporate tax, transfer pricing, and international taxation.
• Experience in handling tax litigation and assessments independently.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws, judicial precedents, and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret tax laws and provide strategic advisory.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Prior experience in a large manufacturing group / Big 4 / consulting firms preferred.
