Direct Purchase (Electrical & Electronics) with Zero Based Costing

Role & responsibilities

1.Product Knowledge:

• Handle procurement of various proprietary units such as CANbus, I/O modules, PLCs, display units, RCCBs, MCCBs, SPDs, LEL sensors, HDDs, inverters, UPS, UV-OV modules, earth leakage trip mechanisms, RFID readers, Ethernet/USB ports, industrial-grade computers, and AC/DC fans.
• Manage procurement of key products including PCB assembly components (active, passive, discreet) and PCBAs
• Li-Ion battery chargers ( AC to DC ) for charging stations
• Knowledge on AC or DC HVACs with Variable Feed Drives would be an added advantage
• Component-Level Expertise: Should possess a strong technical understanding of individual components, aiding in micro-unit analysis and supporting detailed product breakdowns

2.Technical Proficiency: Solid technical background in electronics with the ability to:

• Conduct Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) and Should-Have Costing to optimize expenses.
• Maintain up-to-date cost benchmarks for proprietary items.

• Operational Efficiency:

  Skilled in managing operational processes associated with each product, from procurement through end-of-life, with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and sustainability

3.Sourcing & Supply Chain Practices:

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development: Proven track record in:

• Developing and implementing robust sourcing strategies.
• Establishing and nurturing strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.
• Sourcing from a global vendor base, with an understanding of cost fluctuations and market dynamics.

Contract & Agreement Negotiation: Capable of negotiating comprehensive agreements, including:

• Warranty agreements, tooling agreements, master supply agreements, and IP protection clauses.
• Crafting terms that safeguard the companys interests and optimize supply chain efficiency

Inventory & Cost Management: Proficiency in:

• Managing inventory levels and overseeing purchase orders to avoid disruptions.
• Creating and maintaining detailed cost files starting from the child-part level for all purchases to facilitate transparent and accurate cost management.

Key Competencies:

• Cost benchmarking and costing methodologies
• Technical and operational knowledge of electrical and electronic components

Work Environment:

• This position is typically based in an office environment but may require occasional travel to vendor sites or other company locations.
