The role integrates clinical nutrition expertise with preventive health principles, supporting patients in lifestyle management and working collaboratively with clinicians, laboratory specialists, and the wellness ecosystem within Happiest Diagnostics.

The position requires strong patient interaction skills, the ability to interpret clinical reports, and a proactive approach to designing personalised, actionable nutrition plans that complement diagnostic insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Counselling & Nutritional Guidance

  • Provide one-on-one counselling to patients based on diagnostic test results, including metabolic markers, chronic disease indicators, hormonal profiles, and preventive health screenings.
  • Develop individualised diet plans tailored to patient conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders, thyroid conditions, PCOS, and general wellness.
  • Explain laboratory findings in laymans terms to help patients understand risks and required nutritional modifications.
  • Conduct follow-up sessions to monitor progress and refine dietary prescriptions.

2. Diagnostic Report-Based Consultation

  • Analyse laboratory reports and use the findings to identify nutritional risks and intervention opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to integrate nutrition plans with overall clinical recommendations.
  • Assist in developing diet templates and evidence-backed nutritional guidance for various diagnostic packages (e.g., diabetes profile, cardiac profile, women’s health profile, senior wellness packages).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of dietary assessments and interventions in patient records.

3. Preventive Health & Wellness Programme Support

  • Support organisation-wide preventive health initiatives, including annual health checks, chronic disease management clinics, and corporate wellness programmes.
  • Deliver group sessions, webinars, educational talks, and lifestyle modification workshops as part of Happiest Diagnostics’ preventive care mission.
  • Create and update nutritional content, patient education material, and guidance modules for health campaigns and wellness programmes.

4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with clinicians, wellness coaches, phlebotomists, laboratory physicians, and healthcare counsellors to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Participate in case discussions and cross-functional meetings to provide nutrition insights.
  • Contribute to the design of preventive health packages and community outreach programmes in collaboration with the Happiest Health ecosystem.

5. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all counselling practices align with medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation with detailed dietary history, assessment notes, and follow-up actions.
  • Support quality initiatives such as NABL-related documentation where nutrition counselling is part of preventive care pathways.
  • Track patient satisfaction metrics and contribute to continuous improvement of service quality.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualification:

  • M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Food & Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Additional certification in clinical or therapeutic nutrition is an advantage.
  • Experience:

  • 1–5 years of experience in clinical nutrition, preventive healthcare, hospitals, diagnostic centres, or wellness organisations.
  • Freshers with strong academic backgrounds may be considered.
  • Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of diagnostic markers (e.g., lipid profile, HbA1c, thyroid panel, vitamin levels).
  • Excellent communication, counselling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create personalised nutrition plans and track outcomes.
  • Patient-centric approach with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with digital medical records and teleconsultation platforms.

Key Attributes

  • High degree of empathy, patience, and ability to build trust with patients.
  • Evidence-based, science-driven approach to nutrition.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to collaborate across departments.
  • Passion for preventive health and patient wellness.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, follow-ups, and programmes in a structured manner.
