DGM/GM - Fabrication

Role & responsibilities 1. Strategic Planning & Management Lead and manage the fabrication operations, aligning with company goals and project timelines. 2. Production Oversight Oversee day-to-day fabrication activities including cutting, welding, fitting, machining, and assembly. 3. Quality Assurance Enforce compliance with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, AWS, IS) and quality standards. Ensure all fabricated components pass QA/QC checks and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements. 4. Resource & Manpower Management Plan and allocate manpower, machines, and material resources effectively. Supervise and mentor engineers, supervisors, and workmen. 5. Safety & Compliance Implement safety policies and ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations. Conduct regular audits and toolbox talks to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment. 6. Inventory & Cost Control Monitor usage of raw materials and consumables to reduce waste. 7. Vendor & Client Coordination Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors during fabrication and inspection stages. Interact with subcontractors or vendors involved in outsourced fabrication activities. 8. Documentation & Reporting Maintain all documentation related to fabrication processes, material traceability, and inspection records. Submit MIS reports and progress updates to senior management regularly. 9. Technical Expertise Provide technical support in reviewing drawings, welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ), and fabrication methods. Preferred candidate profile Minimum 18-25 years of experience in structural or heavy fabrication, preferably in sectors like: Infrastructure (Bridges, Metro, Highways) Railways (Steel Girders, Composite Structures)
