Job Title - DevOps Engineer
About Role
As a DevOps Engineer,
- Work closely with the product development team to improve the performance and reliability of new development
- Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools to orchestrate solutions
- Define, build, and keep true CI/CD culture, tooling, and process
- Develop and architect tools for more productive development and also to improve product availability, scalability, and performance
- Automate the installation and upkeep of build and deploy tools and dependencies
- Define processes, techniques, architectures, and practices to ensure the monitoring, reliability, and performance of products and services
- Design and implement innovations that improve software engineering velocity, infrastructure resiliency, security, and data availability
- Solve live performance and stability issues and prevent their recurrence
- Evaluate new application packages and tools and perform research on best practices
- Provide recommendations for the solutions
Requirements:
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or similar experience.
- Curiosity about how things work.
- A passion for learning and developing new skills.
- Obsession with automating everything and a passion for elegance and simplicity.
- Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment.
- Comfortable with collaboration, open communication, and crossing functional borders.
- Ability to jump into situations with few guardrails and improve them.
- Ability and desire to fix things when they break.
- Extensive experience with AWS services.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or shell scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, etc.
- Infrastructure automation with infrastructure as code tools - CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Experience with container infrastructures like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with RDBMS/NoSQL administration and management, such as Postgres and MongoDB.
- Experience with microservice architecture.
- Experience with configuration management.
- Excellent understanding of operating system concepts, especially Linux OS.
Nice to have
- Experience working for a start-up is preferred
- Familiarity with AWS data engineering - DMS, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Quicksight
- History of effectively working with and growing geo-distributed partner teams
- AWS Cloud Certifications.
- Basic knowledge of security - OWASP, static code analysis
- Fintech experience (good to have) , security standards and compliance - PCI-DSS, SOC2
