Job Description

DevOps Developer:

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated Jenkins pipelines that auto-trigger on code changes (e.g., via GitHub webhooks) to perform end-to-end CI/CD workflows, including:
    • Triggering builds for Java backend and Angular frontend applications.
    • Automating deployments to WebLogic Server or containerized environments.
    • Integrating code security scans (e.g., using tools like SonarQube, Snyk, or OWASP Dependency-Check) to identify vulnerabilities early in the pipeline.
    • Executing unit test suites (JUnit for backend, Jasmine for frontend) as part of the build process.
    • Incorporating code coverage analysis (e.g., via JaCoCo or Istanbul) to ensure high-quality code with configurable thresholds for pipeline success.
    • Automating smoke and regression tests (using Selenium) to validate application functionality post-build.
    • Pushing successful builds to an artifact repository (JFrog Artifactory ) for versioned storage and retrieval.
    • Developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts (e.g., using Terraform, Ansible, or Docker Compose) to create and manage containers for deployments, enabling smoother transitions to containerized environments like Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate these enhancements into our existing Jenkins jobs and GitHub repositories, ensuring minimal disruption to current workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance, including failure handling, notifications, and rollback mechanisms.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, best practices, and AWS cloud to support scalable IaC and container orchestration.
  • Document pipeline configurations, processes, and IaC templates to facilitate knowledge transfer and compliance.
  • Stay updated on DevOps trends and implement improvements to achieve our roadmap for fully automated, secure, and efficient deployments.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, and cross-functional problem-solving to align DevOps practices with business needs.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a focus on CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
  • Proficiency in Jenkins for pipeline scripting (e.g., Jenkinsfile using Groovy or declarative syntax) and integrating with GitHub.
  • Strong knowledge of Java/Spring Boot ecosystems, Angular, and associated testing frameworks (JUnit, Jasmine).
  • Hands-on experience with security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube) and code coverage tools (e.g., JaCoCo).
  • Familiarity with artifact management systems like Artifactory.
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of application servers like WebLogic and deployment strategies for microservices.
  • Solid scripting skills in languages like Python, or Groovy for automation.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and webhook integrations for auto-triggers.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment, with strong problem-solving and communication skills
